Santa Casa da Misericórdia Fátima - Ourém
This institution is born from a dream A dream resulting from the happy meeting of a group of Fatimense citizens who shared a concern: the growing difficulties experienced at the level of the elderly population, particularly the large dependents of third-party support for the most basic life tasks.
After several informal meetings and long talks, the will (and necessity) to institutionalize the set of wills and project began to emerge, which led the group - after a period of maturation and growth -, to opt for the constitution of a Mercy, since there was a strong identification with the Christian and humanitarian values that underlie the nature of the institutional paradigm of the Mercies.
It was in 1999 that the first steps in the direction of what is today the Brotherhood of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Fátima - Ourém began, materializing with the opening of the Nursing Home in 2007. Since then, this institution has stood out for its quality of service, for the innovation in the social responses it offers, in solidarity with each person in need of assistance, for its commitment to fulfilling its mission: to serve the community through quality responses, supportive and integrated, respecting individual needs and characteristics.
